This fit perfectly in the space we had - replacing another trash system that had "worn out" after 9 years of use. I love the fact that this is a self-closing unit that I simply have to push in until about 1" from closed and it goes the rest of the way smoothly. Nice surprise! The on-line help I received when looking for the best unit was superb and they actually gave me 3 choices that would work.
