    5 of 5 A good product - solves the high shelf problem December 11th, 2018

    My wife is short( 5' nothing) so top shelves have been problem for her. This pull down solves that problem easily. I installed atop a shelf in a tall 36" wide cabinet in our kitchen. She can easily get to the pull out's top shelf when it is down. This is actually the second one of these we have. This latest one is better counter balanced and easier to pull down and much easier to push up than the earlier one (about 5 or 6 years old) even full on both shelves with groceries. The change does mean that to put it back up you first have to pull down slightly to unlock it before it will go up - explained in the manual, but not obvious to anyone who hasn't read it. It takes a bit of patience to assemble, but the instructions (with pictures) are reasonably clear. Make sure you use all the mounting screws and seat them solidly - the strains the device puts on them must be pretty high.

    This product should become a standard for kitchen designers! Not everybody is the size of a basketball player. Us shorter people dragging stepladders around the kitchen to reach the upper cabinets is a pain in the .... Room for improvement: There should be more variety. Cabinets above the oven are 30" wide and 24" deep. I used a bottom board and mounted the pull down shelf on the side, leaving vertical space for the trays. A recommendation to the designer: 1) Use the same mechanism and offer shelfs with a variety of width and depth 2) Create a second mechanism which would fit into a less tall cabinet, maybe with only one shelf

    This was exactly what we wanted for my mother (4'11") in her new assisted living apartment. She can now reach her dishes without standing on a stool. Much safer! The shelf unit installed easily and works great. Delivery from CabinetParts was very timely and accurate. The price was the best I found on the Internet. Thank you!
