We bet you thought that tambour stuff was going to remain quietly in your memories of grandma’s house, didn’t you? Sorry, it’s back and better than ever! Our Flexible Hardwood Tambour is available in 19 styles within four different categories of tambour types: beaded, beveled, square and cove-cut. You can have your pick between five different finish options: red oak, hard maple, paint-grade poplar, white oak and walnut. They’re available in 12” wide panels and two different length options - 48” or 96” long - and select styles also offer at 24” wide option. Flexible Hardwood Tambour is kept together with a flexible backing that is ideal for wrapping around surfaces and easy adhesion (using construction-grade glue). This tambour is made of raw hardwoods and will require sealing for proper longevity and protection. Allow tambour, and all hardwood products, to acclimate to the area it will be installed for at least 48 hours prior to finishing and installing. - Key Features : Finely crafted in the USA from North American Hardwoods. Sanded, ready to finish with stain or paint. PRIOR TO FINISHING, material must be stretched and acclimated for a minimum of 48 hours.
Flexible backing allows Tambour to bend around curves and corners for a seamless design.
Panels are typically glued up with a standard paneling/construction adhesive onto a solid substrate. Thicker profiles should additionally be held with finishing nails or braced in place until the glue cures.
Natural color and grain variation add to the depth and texture of the Tambour.

I could have laid up had I known. The product was of good quality, just not what I expected (as there was no clarification on the description, Lay-up). :(

Disappointed by this piece. I had to do quite a bit of manual sanding on my own to make it look good after painting.
