Kidney Shaped Wood Shelf, for Suzie-Q, Champagne/Maple

This design of the upper pivot for a corner cabinet lazy susan pole is considerably firmer than the original that came with the unit. I don't think this one will fail because it is not only screwed to the countertop brace, but is imbedded in it as well. Good design! It ought to cope with the imbalanced pantry loading much better.

I purchased the Revo 90 KESSEBÖHMER Corner unit from Cabinet Parts. It came quickly and the packaging was intact. However one of the two shelves were defective. The particle board was broken. I contacted CP and sent them pictures. They quickly sent me a replacement but this time both shelves were defective. On the third try they had their warehouse manager inspect before shipment and it was fine. I think they got a bad batch from KESSEBÖHMER. Ended well, and I am happy with how CP were to fix things….. but someone in the QA flow needs talking to. A defect rate of 50% is just not acceptable.

The REVO system has these two trays which attach to the center post using easy to install clamps. The trays can be removed after the unit is installed, so if you ever need to get in there to clean the cabinet, you can. Please see my review of the center post system before you buy one of these REVO corner systems.

Overall, this is a good quality unit, well designed the way the shelves can be easily removed and the self-closing doors. But here’s my experience installing one of these in and existing cabinet. The instructions do not say so, but they are intended for a new install with a cabinet that has not counter on top. Also, the instructions are meticulously well drafted but make no sense whatsoever if you’ve never installed one of these before. Be warned: you need to figure this out carefully and the video from the manufacturer makes it even harder because they do not use their own instructions. I’ll try and sum this up: Quality of the unit—it has more plastic parts, especially in the gear mechanism—than I would expect from something rated this highly and this expensive. Time will tell. Use of space: it is smaller than our previous one. This one has about 32” diameter trays while our existing one has 36”. The way it mounts, with the self-closing doors, you loose lots of storage area. The installation is very challenging because the instructions are very confusing. I had to redesign the upper mounting system because the one it comes with assumes you have a certain size surrounding cabinet. I might make a video about how to do this because we have another place we may install one more of these—if we like the way it works. Good luck!
