(First, I want to say Cabinet Parts gets 5 stars from me for customer service. It took a little while because they could not replace just the broken parts, but they then instead shipped me, free, an entire new unit.) This sliding door set is well made and easy to install. Seems well thought out, too, although they should post more detailed drawings to let you understand how it installs (e.g., if you want to use the soft close, you need something like 8 to 10 inches on each side of the doorway.) Also, there seems to be no need for it to hold the door so far from the wall. I just installed without the plastic spacers and get a nice, tight fit. The reason for the big drop in rating is that the two soft close units are, like all the rest of the bits, made of sturdy metal ... except for the little carriage bit that slides back and forth and must catch and release. Those are made of what seems very brittle plastic. Both of them broke on me as I just moved them back and forth with my hand (not even a heavy door hitting it.) When Cabinet Parts sent the replacement, I found one of them *already* cracked. I found reviews on other sites saying the same thing. I ended up installing my door without even using the damn soft close units and even though the door is heavy and slides quite well, it's not a big problem, so I am still happy enough, except that I expect a decent part of the price of this is for those soft close units.

The product itself is great. There was a damaged part and I am not very happy with the lack of urgency on their end to get the part to the client. Customer service needs work!!

Do like the appearance of my new barn door with concealed hardware! There was a plastic part on the slider which broke but the carpenter was able to make it work without the part. Great price, fast delivery, carpenter had no problems with installation. Thanks!
