This was a little hard to install but once we go it installed correctly it works well. I do have to push it shut for the last 1/2 inch. It works great in my new hutch.

I made a couple desks with a fold down lid that doubled as a writing surface. After looking at different options I was worried about two things: 1) Getting the right weight rating for my lid 2) Ensuring that the lid was sturdy when fully extended to make a stable desk top To get the weight right I followed the formula for deciding which version of the part to get and it fell right between Heavy and Medium duty. I decided to go with the heavy duty and it has worked out great. The lid falls open gracefully with no issues. To make sure it was stable I installed the body of the lid stay to the side of the desk first and then aligned the arm on the lid to hold it at the angle I wanted. I fastened the arm to the lid using through bolts instead of the provided screws. Once it was tight, the stays held the lid exactly where I wanted and kept it very steady. Very happy with this product! The cost was a little more than I wanted but it made the desk turn out professional and useful.

The parts were very good, and heavy duty, unfortunately they did not fit the installation that I was trying to do. Returns were fast and easy.
