by Julia from Glen Ellen, CAI have not put this item together yet, but the boxes these items are shipped in is the cheapest cardboard with barely any packaging. They are completely destroyed on arrival. The first box was open when we got it, so they sent a second one. That one was at least closed, but the box was shredded again. Hoping it is all in one piece when I put it together this week.

by M from Bethesda, MDWe installed this a couple weeks ago, operates beautifully. I wanted the soft-close feature since my Ikea drawers have had this for years now, and the RevA Shelf trash unit I had did not. I have two complaints: 1) why could it not have an actual stainless or aluminum finish (it is merely painted metallic grey), and 2) the sizing specifications for all of the models of these Vauth-Sagel units are wrong and/or unhelpful. This 2nd issue is obviously more important. The one I purchased here says "min cabinet opening 18" wide" and that is wrong. The 18" model here is for an 18" frameless base cabinet, opening width = 16.5". I was able to see that the product dimensions were 16.5", and ordered it in a leap of faith. I think other models are for framed cabinets, and good luck for ordering those, I have no idea. Vauth-Sagel's website wasn't any more helpful, unfortunately. This is not rocket science guys, make your specs clear!

Easy to install. They were heavier (150#) than the originals(100#) installed in 2006. Very easy to pull. Excellent. W. O. B.

Jonzee did a great job identifying the correct replacement hinges. The original design on the hinges is no longer available. The new replacement hinges required drilling new holes for the screws and routing out the 35MM hole to allow the hinge to open the
