by M from Bethesda, MDWe installed this a couple weeks ago, operates beautifully. I wanted the soft-close feature since my Ikea drawers have had this for years now, and the RevA Shelf trash unit I had did not. I have two complaints: 1) why could it not have an actual stainless or aluminum finish (it is merely painted metallic grey), and 2) the sizing specifications for all of the models of these Vauth-Sagel units are wrong and/or unhelpful. This 2nd issue is obviously more important. The one I purchased here says "min cabinet opening 18" wide" and that is wrong. The 18" model here is for an 18" frameless base cabinet, opening width = 16.5". I was able to see that the product dimensions were 16.5", and ordered it in a leap of faith. I think other models are for framed cabinets, and good luck for ordering those, I have no idea. Vauth-Sagel's website wasn't any more helpful, unfortunately. This is not rocket science guys, make your specs clear!

I was able to find the exact hinge needed to replace broken hidden Soss hinges in a Martha Washington cabinet. The price was reasonable. It did take a while to ship out (ordered May 15, shipping notice June 2) but then arrived quickly once shipped.
