These transformers are hardwired—both to the 120V home wiring and to the light leads—rather than using a plug-in connection. For easier installation, instead of hardwiring each light lead, you can connect a 2-way or 6-way distributor with a compatible 12V or 24V extension lead, allowing plug-and-play convenience for multiple fixtures. To choose the right transformer size, simply add up the wattage of each fixture, or calculate the total wattage based on the length of tape light being used.
